YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS WWII REENACTMENT AND TACTICAL BATTLE

Over 100 reenactors participated in a tactical WWII battle and public display battle in Yorkville, Illinois on April 26, 1997. The weather was mild and everyone enjoyed the ambiance of the WWII era.

M5A1 and M3 await orders

Allied armor regroups and rests between battle scenarios. Shown above is the M5A1 Stuart and the M3 75 MM Gun Motor Carriage. Cannons and machine guns on each vehicle operate in simulated fire mode using propane and oxygen.

Allied armor assaults Axis positions during public display battle. M5A1 in lead attack position supported by assault gun. Anti-tank crew deploys 37mm anti-tank gun to cover flanks during the attack.
