WARNING ORDER:  Operations announcement #1      January 10, 2009
 
The commander of the Rochelle, Illinois Convoy Base is authorized to call
men to form  a company of troops, beginning June 19, 20 and 21.  The
purpose of this call is for organizing a training company to show WWII U.
S. Army drill and basic training skills for the public at large.  
 
Experienced non-commissioned officers are particularly needed to fill
training and drilling roles.  
 
Participants will be expected to present themselves in WWII herring bone
twill uniforms and authentic WWII weapons.  All must provide personal
WWII tenting or shelter halves and sleeping gear.  M1 garand weapons are
particularly needed and desired to be a part of this function. 
Organization and disposition will begin as troops begin to arrive Friday
evening and will culminate in a parade downtown and through Rochelle,
Illinois on Sunday the 21st.  At this time it is expected that
participants will be required to provide their own food. Other
arrangements may be made available at a later date. No registration fee
will be required.  Public displays are encouraged.  Reenactment battles
will not be planned.  
 
Training will include such as:  
 
Fire team organization and function.
Squad organization and assault.  
Platoon formation and inspection.  
Company formation and marching.  
Manual of arms.  
Parade ground drill.  
Squad, platoon and company marching.  
Weapons care, cleaning and inspection.  
Billet organization and inspection.
